This Highland Cow illustration is a nod to my Scottish roots and the gentle, majestic creatures often seen roaming the highlands. With their shaggy coats and calm presence, they’ve always reminded me of resilience wrapped in warmth. I wanted to capture that quiet strength and softness in this piece; something that feels both wild and comforting, like a hug from the hills.
Originally sketched during a quiet morning at my desk with a cup of tea in hand, this Highland Cow was one of the first animals I illustrated for my nature-inspired series.
